The University of Nevada, Reno said it is still gathering information about an alleged fraternity hazing incident that sent a student to the hospital sometime between Oct. 20 and 21.

The 19-year-old freshman from Lodi, Calif. was hospitalized after a binge drinking event for prospective members of a fraternity

Tau Kappa Epsilon is one of 10 fraternities not recognized by UNR. Unrecognized Greek organizations have not agreed to rules set up by the university that prohibit things such as hazing. The fraternity is even listed on the school’s website as one the university ‘strongly discourages maintaining or seeking membership in.’

TKE is no stranger to results. In 2019 the fraternity violated an alcohol policy and relationship agreement that resulted in disciplinary probation until January this year.
