The denial means the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals’ ruling stands (and is stronger, given that the Supreme Court declined to review it). It also means that LSU finally has to defend itself in the trial court.

It also means that no other university will be able to make the same cynical argument about Title IX immunity in future cases.
