All four women settled with Lakewood Public Schools and its Board of Education in Western Michigan for $575,000. One of our clients was awarded a $1.8 Million judgment against Chad Curtis in Federal Court. On the day a judge said Candace Curtis, ex-wife of the former major leaguer, should be party to the judgment against him, she filed for bankruptcy. We obtained the couple’s prison-recorded calls and accused them of fraud after Chad gave all of his assets to his ex-wife during divorce proceedings.

The judge rejected her bankruptcy petition noting that the Curtises had “discussed shielding their marital assets and respective revocable trusts from (the student-athlete).”
